Can a wiki coexist with other tools? Here's an example of how a wiki can work together with a Web Content Management System to make updating your public website more efficient.
Howto & Style
Standard YouTube License
Don't know if dual WIKI / CMS is a good solution to specific problem of delays in updating content.
Delay occurs since the person in charge of proof-reading and updating the live site gets to it when he can. He's working on other things.
Content submitted via Word / text file / read from WIKI won't reduce the time to start the task (lag time). He's just busy elsewhere.
Editing/publishing still takes about the same time.
Then you have added the extra work of maintaining/syncing 2 systems.
