Susan Abbey is president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, and director of both the Program in Medical Psychiatry, and Psychosocial Services for the Multi-Organ Transplant Program at the University Health Network.

David Fresco is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Kent State University.

Jordan Peterson is a clinical psychologist, a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto, and author of Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief.

Zindel Segal is the chair in Psychotherapy and a professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He also directs the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinic at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

David Vago is a research fellow at the Functional Neuroimaging Laboratory of Brigham and Women's Hospital, and senior research coordinator for the Mind and Life Institute.

  • I was incredibly impressed with the panel. Mindfulness has shown to have a positive impact on the lives of many. I would urge even those who regard themselves as generally happy to look into it as it tends to help one experience the fullness of live in every moment. Society would be transformed if this were taught in schools as it would produce a generation of emotionally intelligent, compassionate, caring, peaceful and content children, which in turn would affect our work life, politics, etc

    aka why so many people cling onto hallucinative drugs. Its a temporary state of mind where people can deny the stresses of the reality around them and a place where they can convince themselves nothing really matters. It is of course a very short lived state of bliss and thats why people cling onto it and convince themselves that they need drugs in order to experience the best things life has to offer.
