Are you people serious? That has to be the most ridiculous set of threads anywhere! Looks like the circus is in town...all that's missing is the fright wig and big red nose. How can anyone take you seriously in that thing?

why can't all rcmp dress in this uniform all the time. It looks much better than modern blue uniforms. WE don't want to lose the memories of the red and black uniform and it could end up being phased out entirely. IT is a national icon of canada and is what gives canada its special feeling

no offence to turban wearers but they do not belong in the rcmp uniform appearance. Its ok but it just doesn't look like a mountie at all

The RCMP uniform is a worldly recognized uniform and gets more respect than any US police force or military. haters will get mad reading this but meh the truth hurts. Canada FTW!

I was replying to an unbelievably rude comment that had been made, for no apparent reason, by an American on this site. It seems to have disappeared. I posted my comment over a year ago and was wondering why people kept replying to my comment with so much hostility. If they had seen the comment made by the American then they would have understood why I wrote what I wrote.

4) The beautiful colors, traditional design, and history and heritage of this uniform make it the perfect choice for dress, ceremonial, and courtroom duty. I understand that legally it can be used for everyday duty, but is seldom if ever used for that.
5) The everyday duty uniform of the RCMP is similar to other North American modern police departments. Since the Mounties are a federal agency, they are powerful, modern and well-equipped.
