I know this is from awhile ago but you mentioned that you didn't know what fatal wounds do. At least in UFO Defense, fatal wounds cause health to deteriorate. The more fatal wounds, the faster the unit dies. I don't know if it works the same way in TFTD but I would assume that, considering it's effectively the same game, it would do the same thing.
I love the sound a Deep One makes when it dies. It's like "OAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGH!!" but through the nose.

it is the same, 3 fatal wounds means unit loses 3 health per turn.

@ldicker It does. Same Mechanics as UFO Defense, just different textures and sprites pretty much.
