After the usual check of Roadkill we found this little Joey still alive. We'll be busy for the next few months that's for sure and she will be looked after.
Australian Wildlife is being pushed out as humans clear and deem large tracts of land out of limits to wildlife. In Tasmania over one million Wallabies were killed just because they were trespassing on Gunns or Norse Skog's plantations that in most cases the land belongs to the public but its the wildlife that is refused entry.
In the Pilbura in Western Australia's North West just about every Kangaroo has been shot and left to rot where it falls as cowboys with guns who work in the mines nearby have a little fun. Even the so called professional shooters have gone out of business as there is nothing left. The humble Emu will be the next to suffer and their numbers are reported as diminishing. Tasmania wiped out a dwarf species of Emu and of coarse the Tasmanian Tiger. Will we ever learn?

  • Thanks. Happy to report that "Possum Boots" has gone from 215 grams to 320 grams so is putting on weight. Took her a week to get over loosing her mum. Possums are amazing creatures and full of character. We have now saved 4 Kangaroos, 2 Wallaby's and 3 Emu's.

  • @A7XDudeDrums Um you can take some off NZ..... millions here... we need to get rid of them.

  • Ohhhhh! The poor thing! Did he turn out okay??

  • It's soo sad how some people take precious native wildlife for granted, and exploit our environment. These animals are soo vital for our ecosystems and the more land we clear for mines and and corporate companies the more we push these little guys to death.

Keep up the good work mate!!

  • Wow, very kewl of you to do that.

  • Poor sweet baby.

    THANK YOU!
