Moreover, there is nothing to be decided. If the mother passes away, the kid goes to his father!!! End of story. It is that simple. What else do you think this case is becoming such an international embarrassment to Brazil? Because it is an aberration of family values, the Brazilian constitution and plain common sense.

Let's allow a 9-year-old to decide his future. Especially if he was forcefully alienated from his father for 5 years and after 3 Brazilian court Psychologists ruling that the kid is in no psychological position to testify in court nor choosing his future. And remarkably, let him choose between his life and a different alternative which he was NOT allowed to LIVE because he was illegally retained in another country!!!

I think there's a lot about Mr. Goldman that we don't know. Sean already met with him a few times in Rio this year, and he still feels like living in Brazil with his stepfather. Doesn't the child's will count for anything?
