In a practical sense there are people who have had incarceration experience who rise above that experience. Ascendivist is a term to define them. It a term which recognizes the success of those who accomplish what they will. There is every reason to consider the possibility of being greater than the incarceration experience.
Ascendivists include Judge Greg Mathis, Chef JEff Henderson, Vickie Stringer, and R. Dwayne Betts.

What an upsetting morning. This is so true. Poor whites, poor hispanics, poor african-americans are branded felons for the smallest things. A small thing such as not paying your car fine will make you felon. And the fines add up. When I used to teach I was amazed how easily one became a felon simply because one had car fines that added up. There really is a prison industrial complex. The greedy folks rule our country.
