@alacon28 naw hawaiians measure the back of the wave where as generally people measure the face..what a hawaiian sufer would call a 5 foot wave i would call a 10 foot wave

Hilo Bay is a nice place to surf and this day was good. But please, don't call it a 10 foot day. Sounds like trying to attract attention at all costs.

@HIsurfingc im pretty sure the english standard way of measuring things doesn't change depending on your geographic location so 3 foot is 3 foot everywhere.... even hawaii...
