After scoring a Top 30 R&B hit with the danceable "I Am Somebody," Glenn Jones shifted gears and began concentrating on singing ballads. The move proved to be right, with the singer racking up several high-charting slow jams, beginning with the number three R&B smash "Show Me," "Bring Back the Love" (Top 18 R&B), "Giving Myself to You" (Top 18 R&B), and including his duet with Dionne Warwick on the title theme of ABC TV series Finder of Lost Loves starring Tony Franciosa. &"We've Only Just Begun (The Romance Is Not ver)" proved to be another winner for Jones, with the singer applying his gospel-honed vocals to a great song that paints an optimistic picture of a budding romance. &"We've Only Just Begun (The Romance Is Not ver)" hit number two R&B and number 66 pop in summer 1987. It was included on the Glen Jones LP, which peaked at number 16 R&B and number 94 pop.
