Linguistics is a really important subject to study. I think particularly with this identifying propaganda v. marketing is very important. Is there really any innocent advertising or does it all have an alterior motive? Essentially the answer is yes, because they want your money. That is the goal. But they try to make you think that either you want the product or they truly wish to serve you...Jeff Warrick’s got it right.

I would just like to ask why everytime the U.S. involves itself in a conflict it is always the victim. The U.S. is always reacting to a wound dealt by the "bad" guys. Think about it..I guess the public won't just go for a war if they knew it was for monetary reasons. What do you expect from a country that feeds from conflict and suffering? If i was a detective investigating a crime, i think the U.S. has all the motivation on faking an attack on itself and blaming an enemy they deem as a threat.

I think the first model of this machine of manipulation was religion. Embedded in Christianity is the message that manipulates people into becoming passive controllable population. Jesus message indeed is one of peace or submission if you really think about it.
