The last season of this version of Family Feud, they replaced Ray Combs with Richard Dawson (host of the original ABC version of Family Feud). On Combs' last day hosting the show, the family got 0 points in the Fast Money round, too. Combs tried to do other stuff (including a cable game show), but wasn't successful after he got fired from Family Feud and he committed suicide by hanging in 1996.

Tragically, yes he did. The host of this particular version of Family Fued, Ray Combs, did commit suicide. I don't remember the specifics, but I do remember hearing about it.
