OK, the other two have, even though there have been mistakes, been kinda succesful, so I'm trying out on this one too.. ^^;

...
Translating it made the song so different :O I didn't think it was about what it was actually, well, about.
I hope there's no big mistakes in this?

- I'm not native in German, and not in English either. I'm Danish.
- The song belongs to Tokio Hotel
- The translation is entirely by me

  • why is this so different from the english one

  • because this is a very direct translation ^^ whereas the sung original version is fitted to the melody of the song

  • YES, they recorded this in English as Sacred. That isn't the point of this video. This is just a direct translation of everything as it was written. Helping to preserve the original theme of the song without concerns of timing and rhyming. So YEAH, that's why the words are different. Heilig means primarily holy, but can also be sacred in English. Sacred was likely chosen as it doesn't necessarily imply religion. (Sacred: reverently dedicated to some person, purpose, or object) -- See ya :)

  • - thanks.

  • Thanks for this!!

  • You're welcome ^^<3

  • i don't think you guys get this concept.. this person here is trying to directly translate the song so you would understand what the original meant. you might want to view this because sometimes the english version's meaning is slightly amended. stop saying the video owner translated the song wrongly.

  • "Sacred" and "Heilig" 's lyrics have practically the same meaning.

    that's amazing.

  • thx, but I already knew that :-)

oh-and good job with the video^^

    thx

  • @panfunilia Heilig means Holy in germen. They use the word Sacred because it sounds better then holy in the english song.

  • that song is not holy it calls "sacred"!

  • :D thankyou so much for the direct translation i personally profer their german versions tho the english ones are mint also! i dont suppose you fance translating traumer? cos the english n german versions appear to be completely different . x

  • i love the way it's called "holy" more than sacred for something, it sounds more... powerful O:

  • sacred

  • I had no idea it was just that sad. The english version which they changed makes me cry but this is unbelievable. I love Tokio Hotel, this is so damn sad ): But it's really lovely too.
