This must've been from a long time ago, before the wave of hinduvta and hindu/indian national resurgence struck india and bollywood movies. Now, if Amitab Bachan said something even remotely similar, Bal Thackery and his pack of wild dogs would make mince meat out of him the same way they did with his wife, Jaya bachan after she made a comment as harmless as "hum UP walay hien hum hindi boltay hien". Amibath was forced to apologize publicly on her behalf in order to avert an attack by shiv sena.
