I got my X2 recently and your video has been very helpfull to get me started on my 1st racket.
I watched other related videos too and I think that starting the drop weight at the bottom resting position is better than your starting position.
It will always give room to raise and drop the arm.
The extra 5 lbs at the end of the main is very nice as I did not understand then, but I do now.
Overall, I have restring my rackets 2 times now and it gives me a sense of satisfaction and confidence.

i always seem to have problems getting strings through gromits when there is a string already on that gromit any advice would be great thanks.

With the drop weight to you tension one main at a time or two?
-
How is this machine and how long does it take to string racket with it?
-
im new to stringing. I get the overall stringing process but im still confused on where to put the clamps on. I have the same X-2 as you i think
-
@tcobau Yes you can. A racquet loses 10% of its tension within 24 hours without hitting at all. Stringing crosses adds tension either way. You won't be able to tell a difference unless you waited a week or something prolonged.
-
When stringing a racquet, can you string the mains and then leave them there for a while and then put on the crosses? or does that lose too much tension?
-
@almerickso when you first clamp with string, do you clamp both?
-
@almerickso is what you're using the stock equipment that came with the machine? because i'm looking to buy the same one

check out my gamma x-2 stringing machine for sale on ebay for a great deal...the same one almerickso uses in this video...
if you want it send me a private message here on youtube
Why do you add the extra 5 lbs at the end of the mains?
Hi, I am getting an X-2 so I have been watching your videos. Thanks for all that you do.

Its an optional step. Its mainly to offset the tension loss due to tie off.

there is a screw that comes with the machine that u have to screw in and the arm will rest on it when pushed teh other way.
