I wouldn't narrow it down to just Halequin.. I had a gorgeous Merle named Sassy Madelyne Grey aka Miss Maddie. She lived to be 10 years old. We lost her to cancer about 1 1/2 years ago and I am just now getting to a point where I am kinda looking, thinking about getting another dog.
They are truly Gentle Giants that think they are lap dogs. They are definately a special breed!
I am sorry for your loss...We won't EVER forget them.... ♥

@summer101able Sometimes dogs' ears are cropped in order to make them stand up, and Great Danes are no exception to this practice. Please do some research before you make hasty conclusions...
Breeders often crop the ears of Great Danes in the USA to make them stand up. She was 100% purebred.

@idratherbeinwdw i think this is stupid mine is about 4 feet high now and the ears was down i dont understaand what it was being cropted although im here in the Philippines and starting to breed rare great danes. pls help me understand things and dont be hasty

@summer101able The practice of cropping ears is (I think) unique to the United States. It is illegal in the UK, because many feel it is cruel to chop off part of the ear to make it stand up. I loved JB and think she was beautiful, but when I get my next dane I will leave them ears as nature intended. Most dogs at professional dog shows in the US have cropped ears.

I just lost Domino, my harlequin bitch of 11 1/2 years. For over a decade, she was my constant companion, and gave me two beautiful litters of puppies. I am utterly devastated and if not for the need to look after her 2 year old great-granddaughter, I don't know how I would continue to function. Everything I do and everything I see reminds me of Domino. I have been breeding and showing Great Danes for almost 30 years and have lost a number of dogs, but this one absolutely owned my heart.

@gvbezoff I understand completely. I have had many pets in my lifetime, but none touched my heart the way JB did. I envy you having a pup from Domino's line. We bred JB once but at the time did not have the space for two grown danes. I have always regretted not keeping one of her offspring. I'm so sorry for your loss, it's clear how special Domino was to you.

@idratherbeinwdw Thank you for the kinds words. Can you tell me what software you used to create this tribute to JB. I would like to do something similar for Domino. If you would like to see pictures of Domino, she appears twice on our the home page of our web site, cockatricedanes<dot>com.

@gvbezoff I used Windows Movie Maker. It was relatively user friendly. Domino is beautiful (but you knew that already!), thanks for sharing the link with the pics. Harlequin Great Danes are the best there is.
