The group, Nye Ringenesin, plays for open dancing in the evening at NM i Folkemusikk -- the 2009 Norwegian national competition in folk music and folk dance held in Geilo (Hallingdal), Norway.
The group comes from the valley of Gudbrandsdal, mostly from around Vågå and Sør-Fron. They have one several national championships and Spellemanspriser (the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammys).
The group is: Øystein Rudi and Ivar Odnes (fiddles), John Odnes and Kjell Grothe (accordions), Bjarne Odde (bass) and Kåre Vennevik (guitar).
They are playing a tune call "Geitstuggurustin". It is a galopp (a form of polka) from Gudbrandsdal.
Notice the different types of dances on the dance floor.
