This video was recorded at Chisasibi Fire Dept via mobile and it's not meant to brag. The SCBA is a VIKING model and the face shield is pre-connected to the harness.

  • I preset my straps, except one of my waist straps, that's why I did the overhead donning. You can see my right shoulder strap @ 18 or 19 seconds of the video.

  • FYI: Like I said, Its a VIKING model, I did the seal check before I press the valve on the face mask at 18 seconds of the vedio. No, I wouldn't enter a structure just for practicing donning a SCBA. I checked the PSI / PASS (2 in 1) just before I clapped my hands at the end. I've been in the service for over 11 years, I got certificates of NFPA 427, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1021, 1041-level 1 and Modules 1-9, before NFPA courses were intergraded in Canada. • I didn't see comments about throwing scba over the head. Several firefighters have been injured doing this, so over the head is not allowed where were from.

  • @njm92495 Do ride-a longs with the Fire Department near you and try and become a volunteer if you can. Then, if you can, go to college and get a degree in fire science/ fire tech. Get some Emergency Medical Services under your belt like becoming an EMT. And turn in applications to where you want to be a firefighter. goodluck!

  • Bunker pants??

  • @njm92495 So why are you going to college?

  • @kingintrainin 10 second seal check? hahah

  • LOL he forgot to check for leaks.

  • @charles1076 I am a junior in highschool and I want to become a firefighter after college. I am 5 foot 8 inches and 145 pounds. I looked up some information and i read that you have to get a EMT certificate and to go to EVOC. I took 3 years of spanish and i might take 2 years of russian or german so i can be bilingual or more unique than my competitors. i deal with stress very well and I'm dedicated in everything I do. I would like to know how you became a firefighter.

  • @WorldMarine100 it already was, the mask is preconnected

  • Have the regulator off the mask and vocalize everything and it would be impressive, hell I could do it that fast that way too.

  • way to have everything hooked up. i bet it doesnt come off the truck like that
