Learjet 35A taking off Santa Monica Airport Rwy 21. Engine sound of Learjet is a little bit noisier than any other same-class business jets I saw in SMO.

You think THAT noise is bad? This is obviously a newer learjet with a turbofan engine, which is much quieter than the original learjets that had TURBOJET engines...one of those things taking off that close will rattle the fillings out of your teeth!

Ya thats nothing at all lil fanjet, i work at an airport and we have 2 out of only 5 lear 28,and one lear 25 they are loud with there purejet engines. I have vids of them just need to post.

Its fun to depart the VFR transition route out of SMO. You take off over the beach and then do a 270 right back over the airport.
