So, basically, Don't Ask; Don't Tell is a bunch of bullshit. What harm does being gay/lesbian do to the military? That would be the equivalent of kicking someone out of the military because they've been divorced, or something equally STUPID. I know plenty of straight people in the military who are less qualified to do what they do than most gay people I know who AREN'T in the military. Our nation needs to grow the fuck up and learn to accept differences. Fuck.

Just asking, okay just to know-- what happens when they are the inevitable relations between two men/ women will it be treated just like if a man and woman were caught??

Well yeah. Why would it be any different? Two people breaking the rules would be punished in the same way as anyone else.

What happened to "Support Our Troops"tm? What the right wing chicken hawks really mean is support our male, white, heterosexual military when they kill people and destroy things on any flimsy pretext to prove how "tough" "we" are. Of course the chicken hawks don't have the courage to do it themselves; they just want to send others to do the killing & dying. Cowards and hypocrites!

One problem.
Take any non-Christian society in the world today. Fuck take any non-Chrisitan society 100 or 200 years from now. You'll find laws condemning murder, theft, etc, (to an extent of course). In fact, you'll find them in every society. Because as holy as one tries to make their laws, at the end of the day many simply amount to human nature.

This issue boils down to a fundamental, civilian misunderstanding of exactly what "rights" a person has.

In the military, you have none. You sacrifice your rights in order to preserve the rights that belong to the people and nation you have sworn to defend.

Going on and on about free speech in the military merely demonstrates one's fundamental failure to grasp the problem at the core of this issue.

Exactly. It's all about the greater good for the nation as a whole. I think they pound that in pretty good in basic, he must of forgotten.

The core of the issue is that Canada, Austrailia, and many other countries allow gays to serve openly in the military. Not one notes any loss of cohesion. Why is that? What do we lack that they don't? Here's a better question:
What don't their heterosexual soldiers have that ours do? How about right-wing religious indoctrination? How about homophobia?

Tons of people want out of the military, we will never know how many people claimed to be gay simply to get a discharge.

Besides, it's silly in the first place. There are tons of gay guys and lesbians who would be better soldiers than me.
