@ultratiger97 i have to disagree with you...she is thanking God for her son, but this song is about her SON..her pregnancy and how unexpected it was and how other people said it wasnt the best choice for her but he was a gift from God...a piece of heaven for her. She already had the faith before her sons birth but she named him zion as a tribute to that faith and the circumstances that she got pregnant and and had him in. She is giving thanks but this is a song written for her child.

@SWAGGE36559 Sometimes people use double meanings in their songs. I think the reference to waiting at Zion's door is what you believe and also what many mothers do when babies or small children are asleep in their bedrooms with the door closed or just ajar/slightly opened. That's just a habit that's formed waiting for kids to wake; but not wanting to disturb them. It's a beautiful song. No one has to be upset about it.

@aquanet10 The word ''hater'' is what low class ''celebrities'' use to categorize those who simply don't like their music. Hill is more sophisticated and graceful. People who don't like her music are...people, who don't like her music. They are not haters and I think that is the most pathetic word. This comment is not going directly to you :P I'm just tired of that word being used as an excuse as to why people don't like some music. It isn't hate, it's just not liking.

@SWAGGE36559 I honestly think she was talking about the grace of Zion and her child that she named after it. She doesn't say Jesus' name but she does however say God's. The proof that this song is about both her son and Zion is when she states, "I know a gift so great is only one God could create and I am reminded every time I see your face." The song is DEDICATED to her son and giving thanks to God for steering her through giving birth to her child. Come on there doesn't have 2 b 1 meaning

@swagge36559 i think she was singing about both because she clearly saidin the song " this crazy circumstance i knew his life deserve a chance,but everybody told me to be smart look at your career " they said "Lauryn baby use your head, but insteasd i chose to use my heart" what are you trying to imply is that she gave birth to Jesus Christ ?i dont think so .
