I love this video, What Model Of Russians do you use?

dont go all the way through otherwise you see the thread through the satin which doesnt look very nice... there is a gap bewteen the inner fabric and the satin, put the needle through there, you may have to search around inside with ethe needle, but then it wont show threw and will look a lot nicer :)

Very helpful. Thank you! Especially since this is my first year and I had no idea what to do!

i use only one elastic per shoe, and i sew each end very close to my heel. Then, i sew the ribbons right where my arches are and I do a whip stitch all around, being careful not to go through the shoe. When it doesn't show on the outside, it looks neater.

I have seen so many different ways to sew on elastics on pointe shoes, what is right ? :O should I use one or two elastics on each shoe? and where should I attach it? At the heel ? HEELP

I recommend not putting the needle through the whole side of the shoe, just the first layer of fabric because on stage it looks better.

@Cheerbabeforeverable hahaha ur sharp! And actually I made this video while I was sewing a pair of pointe shoes for my younger friend who was newly en pointe, and she had smaller feet than me, do when i put the shoe on, I used my own shoe :) But nice catch!

for my pointe shoes I just put some clear nail polish at the ends of each ribbon and they haven't frayed, so that works too! (:
