Pretty much have been thinking about the same thing they're talking about here. If what we perceive of "reality" is just neural impulses being whirled about within our brains. How could we possibly talk about reality beyond such brain behavior? What then would be an "unsmelled smell" or an "unseen sight" existing externally from the brain's perceptions? There must be a world external to out brains, but it can't be known empirically.
