  • where are the accents??? i cant tell..

  • @ajcf1995 They are all over the place!! The goal is to be able to syncopate the accents.

  • QUESTION.. i just want to know do you bounce the sticks when you do the diddle part? cause i hit the diddle part like normal hitting.. I'm sure you know what i mean.. i hope. Cause if you bounce it, I guess I'm doing the wrong way.

  • It depends on the speed I'm playing it. Obviously to get speed, you have to let the stick bounce. This is the technique I learned from my teacher Richard Wilson in LA. It's known as "Half the Effort, twice the Speed" it's a variation of the Moeller technique. Richard had me do a great exercise where you play the Single Beat Combinations from Stick Control and any sticking with more than one note on one hand is played as a rebound. After throwing for 3's and 4's, the doubles become smoother.

  • lol the paradiddle-ah is called a grandma its hybrid but very nice

  • Yes, the sticking is the same, but a grandma is usually played in a 3/8 phrase. The "paradiddle-uh" is a group of evenly spaced notes.

  • THANKS!

  • mate, that is the most natural relaxed looking grip technique I've seen yet, I'm learning Moeller and would like to know more about what you're doing here if you could offer a few pointers it would be appreciated? Thanks

  • read my 2nd comment first! sorry haha

  • its right, i know its a journey just to translate rudiments to the drumset in a musical way, its though but its the way i choose, there is one i learn from a guy on utube a 7 stroke pattern RLLFFRL, and loop it : RLLFFRL-FF, its a Gadd weckl kind of fill, BUT do you see how they scramble the whole pattern, i mean is there a SYSTEM t get to that exact pattern if there is with the para-diddle, surely there's a way for all the others, it be nice to have a feedback on this...its driving me crazy.

  • hi frozenegg your video helped me with some doubt ihad but no i have more questions hehe, maybe you can help me out with some of these, for example , i 've been looking to see if there are ways ways t apply rudiments on drums, for ex. i write down a 5 note sticking patter and alternate accents, and starting 1,2,3 4 26th notes earlier or before like this, RLRLR - then we take 2nd note - LRLRL- then RLRRR and RRLRL, but when going with the bass drums sounds BAD like ex: FLRLR i dont feel......

  • lol the book in the middle "Our Dumb World"?
