I would recommend a couple of Weber DCOE 40's instead. A carburetor has to have the right venturi (choke tunnel), otherwise it doesn't work as intended. A bigger tunnel might work at very high revs but looses a lot in the lower ranges. So, if it's a normal 1500 cc engine, go 40's, and use tunnels around 38 mm.

Well the motor is built, the head is completely done and the compression was brought up a bit. I welded on 4 large cones onto the carbs to direct air into them. If the jets don't work, then I prob will go back to my 40s.
