What if “stairway” was high jacked by the fascists, would that make it a bad song. Bigotry racism and prejudice are in the eyes of the beholder. Suppose the new symbols of fascism were to be the blue sky and sun, would you live your life under dark clouds and rain? Sounds stupid doesn’t it well so does slagging of a simple song.

Tomorrow Belongs to Me was written by Fred Ebb and John Kander in the style of a traditional German song, sung by the Nazi youth in the film Cabaret , to stir up patriotism for the fatherland. It has since been mistaken for a genuine Nazi anthem leading to the songwriters being accused of anti-Semitism. This is impossible as they are, in fact, Jewish. This hasn't stopped racist and anti-Semitic rock groups, like Skrewdriver, from recording it and performing it at White Power rallies.

A Legend like Alex always leaves people thinking "what did he mean?" My take is that Alex played in Germany right after the war and saw first hand what the result of Nazism was. A land devastated and a people wrecked...listen to what he says about the Fender Telecaster! He was one of the very few who could see the bigger picture of what Music could achieve! Shine on Alex!!
