Division

Stronghold Productions' "Division" is comprised of four identical wooden louvered walls positioned beneath a steel framework and surrounding a central core of gears. Each wall pivots on its vertical axis, responsive to the action of a drive wheel connected to the gear stack. Energy created by the turning motion of the wheel is transmitted by a complex cable drive system situated both above and below grade. Over the course of one week, the walls will rotate from their initial starburst formation and will merge creating a circular edifice.
