My card don't have the swith because it's a new model.. And the new models aint overclockable :(

Ofcourse, i can unlock it, but if it dont work my card is fucked up, so i don't need to take that chance. The 6950 models rock, and they don't need to be overclocked, they run every game novadays at maximum. Gta runs like crap, even at powerful rigs like i7 and flagship cards like the 6990. Gta is just not optimized to computers.

U should search forums if someone has flashed their xfx. The lack of bios switch makes flashing definitely abit tricky because u wont necessarely be able to flash it back if something goes wrong and lose ur warranty, but im not sure of this. Im getting corsair h50 next week too, h70 is very good and powerful.

Im not surprised ur scared because of all those trolls telling how dangerous it is...well, let me ask u why there is a bios switch on the card then if it wasnt supposed to be flashed? That switch enables u to flash ur card safely, because if for some reason the flashing fails, u can just turn shut ur computer, turn the switch back to its default setting, and restart comp like nothing has happened.. Like I said, I got 1/4 performance increase after I flashed mine, not its like gtx580.

@tkmkirill Hi thank you for the tip, I feel a bit scared to flash the card, I have watched vidoes on how to do it on Youtube.

And I allways endup with reading some comments they say that it will damage the card and things in that way.

I got the switch and I am just worried that it will fail and the card wont work anymore.

And will it be any big different?

My problem is that i have an xfx no reference card and it has no BIOS svitch(or wathever you call it)... Can i still unlock it to 6970?

I'm also going to overclock the prosessor, but I am thinking of buying a cpu cooler, the stock one is not so good.. I am thinking of the corsair h70 watercooler..

I forgot to mention I keep the gpu fan at 65% when playing and u should too. I know its pretty load but thats how u make sure the card doesnt overheat. Use headphones when playing, it helps.

Mine runs only 3c degrees hotter after I flashed it. The max temp that it has hit was 77c and that was when running furmark burn-in test. I wouldnt worry until it goes above 90c. I have Fractal R3 too, 2500k @ 4.2GHz and all stock fans. I got 18500 score in 3DMark when I first got the card, now that Ive flashed and oc it I score 23500. Thats nearly 1/4 increase..

@tkmkirill if i flash it to 6970, will it overheat? I have the fractal design define r3 case, and it runs pretty cool.. But im worried if I have to set the fan speed to wery high, and it will make too much noise...
