Those rich fucking guys whined about moving to Indiana if they didn't get massive tax breaks. The Dems running IL were too happy to cave, so the GOP might as well be in charge. I would've said go ahead & move into the Horseshoe in Hammond. Who'd know the difference?

@DaveJLin The reason they told us for that rule is because of the data/numbers on the boards. it's all in Real-Time and they pay a lot of money for it and they don't want that information available to others who don't view in real time.

I went to the CBOT today and we actually walked out onto the floor for a brief tour.

i work on the floor, and the no video is for liability purposes ,flashes cause distraction and things need to be private. what they show on the news is nothing compared to the real thing. they have their own cameras everywhere, nice video anyways

@eldrechr It would certainly take some skill nevertheless as you will know having worked on a trading floor :D
-
@PeaceLemony because generally u will only trade on contract, and maybe a few months in said contact. Therefore you are always looking at exactly the same spot.
I worked on the UK equivalent LIFFE for 6 yrs.

Hmm, I know this only "through" computer.
I was an intern at CME last year, they gave us a nice tour and even allowed us to walk on the floor. I was surprised to see some of these pits almost completely abandoned, especially futures pits.

@WhiteyMcKrackerHonke
Cool - Yeah, everything is going electronic now.
The pits are becoming a museum.

@crazy360playa Yeah, that rule doesn't make sense, since the floor is often shown on TV news or in movies, where they show a lot more detail.
