@veeseee128 Most celebs couldn't but Mike prolly could. He was a genius but a tortured soul who definitely had self hate due to emotional abuse as well as physical abuse. Granted I don't know Mike & never met him but I could only imagine how being a prisoner of his fame made him lonely with tons of issues.

I have this soundtrack on cd. This brother has a beautiful voice. he sounds soo good. I think he sings it better than stevie. Such a beautiful song about self love. learning to love your black self, your black features. You can only be you, so love you.

Just my opinion but I don't think so. It sounds more to me like a "discovery of one's own beauty and self worth" song. But hey people can play what they want as their wedding song as far as I'm concerned.....

this was one of those "remember when" moments for me....i haven't heard this song in a while, but it has always been a very personal song in many lives, i'm sure

I met this guy doing vocal training in Orlando , he is alive as far as I know! This is no fluke he can do it all live right in front of you . Effortlessly too !

What's amazing is that Stevie does not sing this song in concert as it was written for Ketih John to sing, and there is only one recorded version of him doing so. It is in a different key might I add. Just a very beautiful song.
