"First of all, I want to thank all the people who gave me strength, helped me beat the impossible and believed in me.

This video, and the following story, shall give everyone the necessary power to overcome any obstacle in life.

My story begins in Vienna, it's the 1st of April 2010, a wonderful sunny trainingsday. Thrilled for training from place to place, together with lovely friends. This story takes it twist, right when we stopped and waited for the bus at the station. I wanted to show a friend one of my missions and started climbing. Reaching the height of 5,5meters I tried to reach one of the steel beams. Step by step and very careful, on a very narrow row of bricks, aprx. 8-10cm. On my last step I already transfered my weight on the holding foot, then it happened. The brick fell apart and I looked shocked, in a very slow-motion feeling down on the concrete, I dropped for a very long time. I landed on my legs and didn't really feel anything, but when I tried to get up, I had this painful feeling, disturbing my muscles and everything else which kept me in balance. It was clear, I broke something.

Got out of my shoe and socks, but, where was my heel?

Diagnosis: Broken heel bone, a so called comminuted fracture.

At the hospital the doctors told me that the chance of getting back on my feet and my training was very low. That didn't really motivate me. 3 months later I could take of my plaster and start slowly training again.

I am thankful for every single moment in my life, having one more experience like this - did make an impact forever. I feel stronger, happier, agiler and more confident than before. The fall lasted maybe 2 seconds, but it changed my mindset forever.

Thank you and much love to all of you!
Mathias T."

  • Really Inspiring mate! Keep going <3

  • Inspirational story man, thank you. Great to see you training again :)

  • What a story :)

  • I have to say this is so heart warming and inspiring, I personally haven't injured myself badly from Parkour but I have seen many horrible injuries and I am thankful I have not had to suffer but I take strength also from the people who have and seeing their resolve to return to training and who don't let it defeat them.

All the best and who knows, perhaps we'll get a chance to train together.
