An alternative live version of my favourite Smashing Pumpkins song - Soma. I can't see this version on youtube anywhere so I've added it. You'll either love it or hate it. Personally, I love it.

  • @farneyblakeley i'm pretty sure this is on the special features of videophoria. its the whole concert with the cellist. The cello has such a strange tone to it.

  • amazing as ever.

  • FACE MELTING SOLO

  • One of, if not the THE best billy corgan solo ever!!!

  • I was reading about a recent show here and had to look this up. I saw them at Lollapalooza this year and this song was the highlight.

  • amazing version of one of SP's greatest songs - I saw them live outside Chicago this same year

  • amazing version.sounds so great, i don't understand,why this video has just 4.600 views,it s the best version on youtube.cheers ;)

  • i love how reliable and drone-like james was. he'd play everything exactly the way billy wanted him too, like it was math... and the only time james drifted from the script was when billy got lost in noise crunchy guitar rants so james would catch on and play his part underneath so that the audience would keep in mind that they were still playing the same song. that's what made james such a professional, i think.

i honestly think the machina line up, playing siamese songs, was the best.

  • even through the super low quality, there's no doubt that there are few songs out there that match soma's intensity.

  • If I'd be on that stage playing the guitar solo, I'd be ejaculating probably.

Too bad he won't play it anymore.
