Philipp Sholz Rittermann on 3-17-11 at the La Jolla Athenaeum providing a viewing of his large handmade monograph EMPEROR'S RIVER after discussing it in the library. He spent over a month in China recently photographing the ancient waterway. According to Rittermann the photos from the book would viewable on a website at emperorsriver.com soon. Arthur Ollman, the former director of the San Diego Museum Of Photographic Arts (MOPA) in Balboa Park, is to Rittermann's right as he turns the pages of the book. This is book one of a series and was purchased before the trip was taken by the Athenaeum as a means for Rittermann to partially finance the venture.
