Nothing wrong with comparing players cuz that's how u find out who's the best n y. However, to say that Irvin was as good as Rice is like saying a stock Corvette is as fast as a Ferrari Enzo. Rice's numbers r so far ahead of Irvin's that it's not even fair. Also both of them have 3 rings each so that argument doesn't work either. Plus they both played on super teams with super QBs.

@firerustdragon rice is #1... those other guys you mentioned they were not complete WRs all they did was run routes and catch they couldnt block if you put a gun to thier heads..michael irvin is the most physical WR of all time. irvin will never be forgotten....1. he played for dallas...2. he has the numbers and lastly HE HAS THE RINGS!!!! none of the players you mentioned has led their teams anywhere. they are just stat machines. randy moss wont even run a crossing route he gets alligator arms.

Third, the rest of the game was Troy desperately going downfield, trying to get back into it. That's tough to stop if you're SF or anyone. An opponent with a nothing to lose attitude. But it was still 38-21 SF after 3 qtrs and SF won by 10. The Niners were on cruise control in the 4th, where Troy had about 200 of his 380 someodd yards total passing.

Fourth, speaking of penalties or non calls, thru his career if I had a dollar for every time I saw Irvin get away with push offs on DBs....

First, Rice over Irvin, no contest.

Second, Dallas came "storming back" in '94? Not exactly. The 9er D came out on Dal like white on Rice. Not Brown on Rice, cuz Rice torched him later for a TD from Young. They buried Smith. Davis read Troy like a book and picked Irvin's pocket for a gorgeous pick 6 to start. Then the stuffing of Dallas continued and a brutal forced fumble on Irvin led to another SF TD drive, then another on the kickoff. All Dallas' D had to do was stop SF. Nope. 21-0 SF.
