How to Know if Your Food is Organic - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats.

You can tell if a fruit or vegetable is organic if it is labeled by the USDA as organic. There are important practices put in place by the national organic program, and as long as a farm follows those standards and is certified, it can label its food organic. You cannot tell by looking at a fruit if it is organic or not, but you can tell if it is labeled organic at the supermarket. Or, if you are dealing with farmers at a farmer's market, the only way you are going to know is if you get the certification from the farmer himself, showing that he is certified organic.

So, my first choice would be grow it yourself, because it tastes the best, it is the freshest. The next would be farmer's markets, because they are probably going to have fresher than the supermarket, because they harvest it usually the same day that they sell. Then the next would be a supermarket that sells organic produce.
