i love this style, but my hair doesn't hold curl from a curling iron. So if i just put gel and like scrunch my hair...do you think this will workk?? (:

Okay, so my school is having a Spring Dance coming up, and will this work with hair about.. and inch or two from past my shoulderrs, and layered ? Also, my hair doesn't stay curled for very long. Any tips? Or other updo's ?
