Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich - Comment by Dave Dee 2007 & Last night in Soho 1968

Dave Dee talks about the time and music in the 60s

You came into my life like rain upon a barren desert,
one smile and I was born again.
I felt sure, it wasn't too late,
I'd find strength to make me go straight.
I had love, and threw it away.
Why did they lead me astray ?
For, last night in Soho I let my life go.

I never told you of some things, I've done, I'm so ashamed of,
I thought my foolish past was over and done.
I was sure, I'd make a new start,
I'd try with all of my heart.
I had dreams and broke them in two,
I'm just not worthy of you !
For, last night in Soho I let my life go.

Well, hi, there, kid,
you ain't been around for quite some little while.
you got yourself a real cute doll,
you're living life in style.
But boy, don't get above your station,
if you don't want aggravation,
got a little job for you,
this is what you gotta do, boy!
That's how last night in Soho
I let my life go

For, last night in Soho
I let my life go.

  • RIP, Dave. Thanks for sharing your great talent with us

  • I remember exactly where I was when this was a hit. Last night in Brentwood doesn't have the same ring about it. RIP Dave Dee. One of the best.

  • Absolutely loved this song when I was 12! far too young to see them in concert. Fortunately, I did see them live...a few months before Dave Dee died. I did tell him how much I loved his music, and told him (nervously) that I had him all over my bedroom wall! how the other guys laughed and said "it must have been a bloody big wall"....seriously though I was so pleased to see them and they all played great live and brought back so many happy memories. Thanks, guys..

  • Loved hearing it then, love hearing it today !! R.I.P Dave

  • Dave Dee + Co. belonged to my youth like food and water. They were great. R.I.P. Dave Dee, you`ll never be forgotten.

  • They coloured the 6T's...Brilliant band.
