Mazda 3 LED Footwell lights

I got sick of not being able to see in the Footwell at night, so I put these in.

You wired this to the interior lights so they turn on when the interior lights are triggered right? What if you're driving and you turn the interior lights on yourself? You know which wires and where you need to patch into?

Yes, but they only turn on when the doors are open. When the dome light is switched on they will not turn on. I cannot recite off the top of my head. Perhaps in the future I will review my work, and make a better version.

I simply tied into the dome light fade feed, it only triggers during the door open and not during manual actuation. To make it work during manual operation I would have to solder onto the terminal which the bulb is connected to, which would make it work during both events.

@kdanizer, All I did was find the wiring for the dome light, and tap into it. I wish I had instructions. I may end up posting them sometime when i get the chance!

What is the length of the led strip under the foot wells? And do you remember a particular brand or the leds?

Did you go to the map lights near the windshield or the dome light center of the car? If you went to the map lights, do you remember which wires on the harness for the dimming? I put red LEDs underneath that turn on with the nighttime lights (cig lighter, dash, backlit lights on the AC controls etc) but want the white LED for when I open and close the door. Just need to know which wires of the harness to splice.
