So what has made West Coast Green so popular? What makes it stand out from the other conferences? In our talk with Eric Corey Freed, Principle of Organic Architect and one of the speakers at this year's West Coast Green, the answer became clear.

West Coast Green is designed to be an inviting, educational, inspirational and non-judgmental space. It is a place that encourages creativity and innovation. Often there are inspiration rooms where professional artists can sketch out your ideas and brainstorm with you. There are table tops where people can see what other businesses are doing and get involved. Speakers give original talks that are specific for West Coast Green. Also, West Coast Green is a place where you will be showcased the latest green building products that you have probably never seen before. At West Coast Green you can always find something new. In fact, this year is the second year that West Coast Green is having an innovations section as well as an award for innovation.

Many conferences have "green" sections or "green" products, but Eric feels that a lot of this is greenwash and that when you walk through these conferences you feel that you are hearing a sales pitch. At West Coast Green not just anyone can exhibit. Exhibitors are vetted and they have to truly be green, and as a result attendees can trust what they see and hear. "It's a comfortable safe place where you can learn about what's green and what's not really green."
