This is an on-camera demo of the Kodak Zx1 (ignore what the video says, I got it wrong), a portable HD camera, similar to the Flip HD and Creative VADO. The Zx1 records in 720p (1280 x 720) either in 30fps or 60fps, and can also be set to record in VGA mode. It uses AA batteries, an SD card for storage, and has a very sturdy feel to it. MSRP price is $149 USD.

  • Was this video recording with Kodak ZX1?

  • No, it was recorded with a Canon HF100.

  • i spent so much money on my flip video camera hd, which camera do you think is better?

  • I have a Flip Mino HD, that's it - I haven't tested any other cameras, so I can't offer you an opinion. I'm sure you can find reviews of all these cameras out there though...

  • As a Kodak Zi6 customer and enthusiast, I cannot wait for this camera. At the price point, you get a hell of a lot including the rechargable batteries and charger and an HDMI cable. A 4 gig SDHC card is roughly $15 on the web in various stores, so you're talking $160 and you're good to go.

  • Yeah, there's definitely a lot of value for the dollar. I was also amazed at how this unit felt so much higher in quality than the Creative VADO. This unit is a bit heavy though. I dislike the use of AA batteries though - I'd rather have a Lithium Ion battery. I prefer devices that I can recharge on their own, not ones that require the constant purchase of batteries or having to pack a recharging unit. Not a huge deal breaker though...

  • i bought mine yesterday for like $60 off amazon

  • 15 minutes?!

  • Just make sure when you buy a SC card for this that its a high class one. I have not tested anything under class 10, but I guess class 6 would do.

  • i like zx1...its weather-resistant

  • Thanks

  • What is the maximum time you can continuously record as a single file at HD quality with 60fps?
