Where: Minneapolis City Hall, 350 South Fifth Street, Mpls., MN, 55104, where Hubert Humphrey began his career of public service as Mayor in 1945.

I have an immense respect for Hubert Humphrey due to his commitment to civil rights and other progressive causes. He was the guy who led the front-line troops in congress during the struggle to break the southern filibuster and pass the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Though he made a serious error regarding Vietnam and supporting the position of LBJ (whom I otherwise also respect greatly) but was an lively speaker and passionate about the issues. Pity we don't have more like him today.
