Put together in 3 days in 2008, the Eyler family raised $700 for the loggerhead sea turtles through the 1st annual Turtle Crawl 4.8K Run. The run consisted of about 44 runners, with the grand prize as a bag of softee donuts. This year, 2009, the run consisted of 115 runners total. With the help of sponsors Wilson Sporting Goods, Barefoot Bubba's, Milagro Resources, University Eye, Boondocks, A & D Home Builders LLC, Mangos, and Walden Consultants, the Turtle Crawl brought in $1795 for the Fripp Island Loggerhead Patrol. Saving the World, one Loggerhead Turtle at a time! :)
