@60sAreGone Please. Everyone can fucking sing. Watching one episode of American Idol will show you as much. Being a great singer isn't about how clearly you hit the notes, how much vibrato you can add or what your vocal range is, it's about texture and character. You can have your Whitney Houstons and Mariah Carys, I'll take Tom Waits, Joe Strummer, and Frank Black every time.

i don't know, i found tom nearly 30 years ago and i'm never impressed by covers, i don't like scarletts covers from a musical/technical perspective but i'm thinking it's maybe 99% admiration on her part...i'd like to think so anyway :-)

i think the point here is, to show your admiration for tom you don't need to do much more than stick on a cd and open a bottle of jack! leave the singing to tom
