Ever considered a wireless HD tansmitter/receiver? The only problem with it is that you'll need a visual line between receiver and transmitter. Now I want to combine the wireless HD with an HDMI switch so I can transmit directv/ps3/fta receiver to another tv set :)
Enjoyed the video! I'd also really love to say that I enjoy using the HDMI Splitter for a TOTALLY different reason (though I find your use quite intriguing and may apply it). But I LOVE using the dual HDMI output for the SAME ROOM, especially for us nerdy video Gamers! (ex: Madden11). The way these games play (not split screen), you can play your friend, in your room, each with your own beautiful TV &/OR Monitor. Even 4 TV/Movies (for Viewing angles). Just keep HDMI wires short & 1.3 HDMI
@LimitedWard I would put my money on it that this guy's setup is very advanced (as it appears) and most likely has a Blu-Ray+DVR Reciever (and 50+" flat screens mounted), and could switch from HDMI 1 input to HDMI 2 input (say 1 is upstairs DVR while 2 is the DVR downstairs) and "Wallah" (not a word? hah). But you are right, as it seems he complains of the dual dvr setup as being not user friendly, it could be problematic if you are watching downstairs and the roomie/GF is upstairs watching.
1. is the video quality same in both split videos ? and can both be played together (as in at the same time) ?
2. How about the audio ? in my orginal hdmi cable i have a signal of 7.1 surround sound ... now after inputting this orignal hdmi (carrying Hi - DEF - VIdeo / Audio) into the splitter .. would i get same 7.1 surround sound in both the places ?
If the answer is yes .. can you please suggest some good brands for buying the HDMI SPLITTER . Thanks
the only problem with this setup is that if someone wanted to watch one thing upstairs and someone else wanted to watch something different downstairs, there would be an all out war.
@jmigu003 I got mine from Sewell Direct and it has lasted me a good year. Haven't had issues yet.
