Madagascar is unique. It is home to some of the world's oldest species that exist no where else in the world. But humanity's encroachment on this island ark has pushing most of the species to the edge of extinction.
This award winning documentary looks at the work being done to save this endangered species before it's too late.
Do like the Galapagos and other small islands in the pacific - limit the numbers of residents and tourists, and use the income from tourists to pay for the importation of goods thus negating the need to clear fell the trees.
I may sound like an idiot, but if Madagascar continues clearing land and looses its unique habitats and wildlife, why would anyone want to go there? Over time the land will become bankrupt if its nature is removed.
