The Roger McGuinn show!" TOTALLY LIVE performance from the band's 2nd appearance on "Shin...".

Again, chopped up to fit the show's strict time constraints.

Note how David Crosby is on Acoustic Guitar here, as opposed to his usual Gretsche Nashville Tennesean.

Also note how both David & Roger are using "Drop D" tuning.

  • wow, fresh faced David Crosby 10,000 pounds of cocaine ago. Glad he shaped up before it was too late.

  • One of the greatest of the Byrd's many great songs. The harmonizing on the long version is the best there is. Loved them in Fresno in 1965!!

  • Nothing at all against the Beatles (loved 'em back then still dig 'em now), but my first memories of the Byrds were when my older brothers would spin a 45. I just gravitated to their sound more with those suspended chords, the overall tone of the guitar, and the groove.

  • David has one of the greatest voices in rock which he employed in one of rock''s greatest bands, up to and including The Notorious Byrd Bros. after which they became something quite different.

  • crosby is so damn creepy

  • So what do you do after you get kicked out of the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and the Hollies? You form Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. So there......

  • This was my very favorite song for several years. They Byrds were the only electric band really happening in America until about 1967 when Hendrix exploded

  • great song

  • And Chris Hillman doing his "you will NOT see me smiling on stage" act !

  • ive got to be honest, as much as i love gene clarks work mcguinns voice is much better suited to this song
