Detroit's most infamous abandoned building. Built in 1913 for the Michigan Central Railroad Company, it stayed open until 1988. It has sat empty and vacant, removed from the city's downtown core, ever since, open to the elements, scrappers and vandals. It was designed by the same firm that designed the Grand Central Station in New York. It also has been featured in movies, including Michael Bay's "Transformers."
Featuring "Train Kept a Rollin'" by the Yardbirds.

  • I think the old Packard Plant is the most infamous abandoned building in Detroit.

  • Cool video, I wanted to see what it looked like on the inside and this sure did show me!

I think it's time to put it down.

  • Good ol' Yardbirds!

Thank you for showing its beauty.

  • @mrdave777 ive been in where the trains use to come to get into the actuall part and the left side kindda in the back there mite be an opening... i believe there is... if u wanna get in where the trains use to come on the side i think they mite be closed now but when i went there were some doors open... : ) so there u go!!

  • My dream, hundreds of maglev stops in Detroit neighbor hoods,

a subway system also, like what LA have lost due to corporations.

the ability to have TRUE high speed train system of passengers and freight going to the different cites like Huston,NYC,LA!

we need to also get out of the green idea mind set, unless its green in the form of paychecks to workers who build the infrastructure of the 21st,and 22nd century of America!

  • @HaloCE14 It would make little sense to bring a high speed line into that oversize derelict building. If they do build a high speed line into Buffalo, I would hope it would come into a modern transportation center, with bus and air tie ins. But what the hell, we still keep the barge canal going, so nothing would suprise me. NYS loves to spend federal money questionably.

Great video by the way. I love this Yardbirds rendition of the song!
