Could've made it sound that cool with the old straight 8 and a split manifold easily...should've left it in there

I agree alexpfaff, using the compound intake/exhaust setup with dual exhaust sounds just like a V-8. This setup was available for both the small and large Buick straight eight in 1941 right from the factory. They were very common in the fifties and could be adapted to the later straight eight (through 1953) as well.

Very difficult to weld the buick manifold. I did years ago and it cracked in a couple of weeks.
