This is what streets and traffic looks like in São Paulo, the largest city of Brazil...

Leaving São Paulo, crossing the whole city from South Side to North Side, passing through the city center...

Distance is 33km (aprox. 21Mi), total time for this run was 46 minutes (average speed 44km/h or 27.5mph)...

This means conditions were good (the time was aprox. 15:00h), during peak hours most drivers face at least 1 hour driving to or from work for shorter distances...

---

Atravessando São Paulo da Zona Sul até a Zona Norte passando pelo Centro, saindo da cidade pela Marginal Tietê e depois Rod Ayrton Senna....

  • Great video! what is the name of the music that you used?

  • thanks! but sorry to say I didn't take note on what song from AudioSwap I used...

  • awesome video man... I love time lapses showing roads and city driving.

do you have such videos of other brazilian cities?

I just think the video could show a bit more of Av Paulista and maybe Marginal Pinheiros area...

btw, do you have one of these new cameras that film directly in time lapse or do you edit the video later to remove frames?

  • Alô Roger! I have an old run in Ribeirão Preto, I'll try to upload later tonight... I'm using just plain video cameras, I later change the speed using software... thanks for your comment...

  • thanks for the answer. I thought you were using some of these new Sony and Canon cameras that already have timelapse video recording.

the problem with recording with normal cameras is that they record in 30 or 15 fps... but even in 15 fps, you need at least 8gb to record a full 60 minutes video...

  • you'll notice also that since most video recorders use memory cards formated on FAT32, that has a 4GB maximum file size limit... so recording more than 1 hour with no cuts is not so simple... For HD I'm using a Creative Vado HD that can record upto 2 hours in one go, but the one video camera I know doesn't have this problem is the GoPro Hero HD camera... If you're looking to buy one, that's my recommendation... ;) Thanks for your interest, if you need any other help shoot me a personal message..

  • Lol, for the song you should've used:

Escaping from Sao Paulo - Projections

    Would've made sense xD

  • Gostei

  • Saudade dessa minha cidade que temo no caos a fonte de inspiração

    Obrigado pelo vídeo :)

  • I've never seen a crash to the tunnel division myself, although there are some scratches on the concrete... Traffic in this tunnel is usually very slow, the exit to the right has two lanes and is always jammed... So maybe traffic jams contribute to less accidents? hehe...
