Nice fix! I have a 2000 Toyota echo that's had the filling problem for about 5 years now. Every time I'd have to fill up, I could only put the gas in very slowly, or else the pump would shut off. The pressure inside the tank wasn't able to get out. This video gave me a clue on how the system works, too. Good thing you have a Toyota!

I checked the evap system on the car the other day and found the problem. Somebody put a rubber cover, or plug, right where the air drainage vent hose should've b

Nice. I was freaking out because my car is having this issue.

But this video made me sad. It reminded me of when gas was 1.89 a gallon.

My wife's toyota has had that problem for about 2 years now. Last night I had the car on jackstands and took off the filler tube and hoses and found nothing. So I went in the house and searched "can't fill gas tank on toyota". After viewing your video I went out and pulled the vent tube off and sure shit, there was a damn spider nest stuck in the tube. I spent a total of about 2 minutes taking the tube off and cleaning it out. Thank you, thank you, thank you..... You are great!!!!!

Guess what, same problem here - spider webs in mine as well. Wanna know what our CERTIFIED Toyota dealer said after telling them about the tank fill problem? He said, "You need a new tank because theres a one way valve that is built in to the tank and once it gets stuck closed the only solution is to replace the entire tank." And he also said it's about a $500 job. They are either stupid or just plain criminals. Either way I will not be going to them again.

well ok, how would you unclog an evap line between the tank and the solenoid?? since mine has been modified...well, actually, im not using the solenoid, im using a PCV valve so the fumes would flow directly into the air cleaner hose instead of the manifold cause you will actually burn a tad more fuel with the original setup. i have the 94 ford explorer with 270k miles and ran great with this setup for 5 years till the evap line clogged. can i use a steel cable inside the line to unclog it?
