If you look at the Separate ways 1982 video it's obvious that Steve Perry is the superior singer even with the 24 year gap in sound quality Between the 2 videos Steve sounds better.

Meh. Arnel has better precision and execution but struggles to hit the high notes, and doesn't have the same melodic sound stylistically that Steve has. This is why I prefer Steve to Arnel any day.

@qrestmah I agree. I bet he gets really tired of people comparing him to Steve Perry. Sure, they have similar voices, but his style is all his own. He had gigantic shoes to fill and he did great.
